The Atatürk Congress Center in Merinos, Bursa, is a pleasant place where you can spend quality time, thanks to its green areas and social facilities. The owner is always pleasant to chat with, and the staff are warm and friendly. The prices are a bit above the typical student budget, but judging by how busy it usually is, it’s clear why—it's a cozy place with genuinely tasty food.

Sail Café is actually better known as “Yelkan Kafe” in Turkish — even the staff don’t really use the name Sail Café! It’s a cozy family-run place where the food really stands out. The seafood dishes and grilled options are delicious, and the mezes are so varied that you’ll have a hard time choosing which ones to order. The fact that the owner is right there in the kitchen is, in my opinion, the best guarantee of flavor. The team here is always warm and welcoming, and service is quick. Prices depend on what you order — you could call it mid-range to slightly above, but definitely affordable for the quality you get. The atmosphere is wonderful: right by the sea, with a gentle breeze, the sound of waves, the lights of the opposite shore, and the moonlight reflecting on the water — all creating a relaxing vibe. It’s the kind of place you can easily enjoy with friends or family, and leave with a smile.

It seems like they compromised on quality (taste) to keep the price affordable. It used to be better a few years ago. One of the things that upset me most was that although the public restrooms looked clean, there was still a strong odor. Unless I have no other choice, I won’t be coming back here for a long time.

Although this restaurant is located by the Bosphorus, it does not have a full Bosphorus view because a pile-supported road passes in front of it. However, it still offers a waterfront view of the Bosphorus between the road and the shore (in fact, quite a wide area). This place is famous for its chicken wings, and truly, it is one of the best spots in Istanbul where you can enjoy wings. Since there are private parking areas nearby, you can easily come by car. Besides wings, meat dishes are also served. You can order alcoholic beverages as well. Considering Istanbul in general, its price–performance ratio is quite high. Their service is fast. You may also throw the bread you don’t finish into the sea for the fish or seagulls.

Rasathane Pide ve kebab is a casual spot (Kandilli is the name of the neighborhood, which also hosts an observatory). Inside, there’s a stone oven where they bake bread and pide varieties over a wood fire. The taste is excellent. They offer three types of soups, catering to a wide range of preferences. Service is fast. It has the feel of a traditional local eatery. If you are passing through the area, it is definitely recommended.
